Umiam Lake

Shillong Peak

Ward’s Lake

This pretty lake, shaped like a horseshoe, is a beautiful picnic spot in Shillong. Charming bridges, manicured gardens, and paved walkways paint a pretty picture of this city lake. 

Lady Hydri Park

Named after the wife of a colonial-era governor of Assam, this pretty park with a tiny zoo is a delight for kids. 

Mawphlang Sacred Forest

A blend of gorgeous vistas and folklore, this sacred forest is a window into the legends & lore of the Khasi tribe. The forest is dotted with ancient monoliths & sacrificial stones and is still worshipped by the Khasi people.

Best Time to Visit

Shillong is a perfect place to visit all around the year. However, the peak tourist season here would be from October to May. It is a great place to celebrate Christmas and to bring in the New Year!
